Thames Water is being investigated by the water regulator for England and Wales, Ofwat, after the struggling company delayed environmental improvement schemes.

The investigation was launched after the Guardian revealed that the UK’s largest water company intentionally diverted millions of pounds pledged for environmental clean-ups towards other costs, including bonuses and dividends.

Ofwat opened an enforcement case into Thames Water to decide whether the company breached its obligations in failing to deliver 100 out of 812 schemes it was supposed to put in place between 2020 and 2025.

Voluntarily take accountability for their actions and repair the damage they've caused.

The bosses need to be locked up, and their PERSONAL assets liquidised to pay for the damage they've caused, and to compensate all of the bill-payers who have been paying for proper sewage disposal that never happened. Then their companies need to be dissolved, and until we're able to abolish the state, too, all be nationalised.

Of course Keith (or whichever institutional puppet comes next) is just going to keep giving them slaps on the wrist while patting them on the back and congratulating them on their record profits, but still, it's nice to imagine..

Completely agree.

Fines are useless as they don't impact the decision makers. We need real consequences for their actions.

So they've been approved to ramp up my bill to pay for all the environmental damage that I was paying them to prevent, which they didn't.

So what's to stop them taking my forced bill increases (because its not like I can change providers) and diverting that too?

We have a serial habit here, what are the ongoing consequences of their actions?
