I thought I was being clever, putting the litter box on wheels so I could slide it out from under the stairs, but I have inadvertently created a Mad Max-esque vehicle which my cat uses to roll around the house, dragging himself with his front paws, the entire time shitting.

Cats are wild

We put our cats litter box in the basement. We had this wicker box thing down there. It’s kind of small, like a little box that could hold 6 pairs of shoes. It was near the litter box and she drug it over to her litter box so she could scratch at it while she took shits. We wanted to stop her from destroying it so we moved it far away, she drug it across the basement back to the litter box, twice. We put weight in it, she knocked it over and then moved the now empty box back.

We gave up. It was like $10 and we obviously weren’t using it. It’s hers now. She has wrecked it. It’s like a boomer dad taking a newspaper into the bathroom. We find chunks of wicker in her litter box. The front of the box is bare. For the record she is not an especially large cat, she is 14-15lbs

14-15 pounds is huge for a cat. 8-12 is average.

[–] sbv@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 hours ago

She earned it.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 14 points 15 hours ago

15lbs is a decently large cat.

Well yes but, you see, this is a fake story engineered to Get Likes Online™️

But the shit-mobile will always be real in our hearts

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 19 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

And genuinely, this is why I usually don’t really care that people make stuff up for their posts because choosing to believe it’s real is just more fun

I take pleasure in knowing that, if there truly is an infinite number of universes, there's at least one in which a cat is intentionally pulling themself around in a wagon while pooping.

[–] TheEntity@lemmy.world 6 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Infinite number of universes doesn't imply anything about their contents and their variance. Think about it like this: there is infinite number of even numbers (0, 2, 4...), but that doesn't make "3" one of these infinite numbers. Likewise, the absence of "3" doesn't make this sequence any less infinite.

I'm fully aware I'm deep into the "fun at parties" territory.

Apart from that I'm fully with the ancestor comments. If it's fun, harmless and insignificant, it's real to me.

[–] Smokeydope@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Maybe 'infinite branching timelines' like many worlds interpretation style makes more sense? Now were talking about all the parallel timelines of our universe with the earth and life intact where humans and cats exist on planet earth.

[–] moakley@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

If you told me that at a party, I'd say you made a good impression on me.

I mean, it's at least plausible. Cats scratch the sand before and after using it, to cover their tracks, and while they can be incredibly smart when they want to they can also simultaneously be astoundingly stupid... so they sometimes scratch outside the sandbox.

If they do that on a sandbox with wheels, it's not out of the question for them to move it (especially if they can sink their claws into something, like carpet).

That gives you two possible scenarios for the story: the stupid wins, and the cat is just trying to cover its business but is moving the sandbox instead, or the smart wins, and the cat figures out it can move the sandbox wherever it wants, which will probably be near its humans, as cats prefer to have someone nearby watching for predators while they do their business.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

Don’t cats want a comfortable familiar space to do their business? This is asking for trouble.

Cats are evil, dude
