The newly introduced legislation would make it a felony for men to “discharge semen without the intent to fertilize." It's called the "Conception Begins at Erection Act."

"If you think it's absurd to regulate men, then you should think it's equally absurd to regulate women," Somani responded. "So this is to make a statement," I said. "It is a statement," Somani giggled.

It was co-sponsored by two Dems, one of whom is an obgyn. This is not a serious bill y'all, its a statement on the hypocrisy and absurdity of anti-abortion bills. It was never meant to pass.

Ohio, you funny... but that's gonna misfire magnificently.

These are not serious people.

They are just trolling. Nobody reads the article.

My point still stands when the jokes are indiscernible from reality.

Somani and state Rep. Tristan Rader (D-Lakewood) joined forces to propose a bill nicknamed "Conception Begins at Erection Act."

It affects men so it'll never get up

Also these sex pests need to get their heads out of the gutter. How obsessed with other people junk do you have to be to start writing legislation around it?

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You should read the article. The representative who proposed the bill is making a statement against pro-lifers.

Oh thanks for the heads up, I had it pegged as even more ridiculousness coming out of the states but this was actually an interesting read. I think my comment still stands but maybe more aligns with the thoughts of the rep raising this particular piece of legislation than applying to them.

I think pegging would be the other option, were this to get past…

I think edging might be more of a solution ..

It also doesn’t apply when an individual is masturbating...

Nah, you're good.

It's a bill pointing out the hypocrisy of reproductive rights.
