i dont really get this metaphor but for sure this should be an eye opening moment for people who think that policies and procedures matter when a president willing to ignore them outright.

it doesn't work because in the movie the referee gets out the rule book reads it and says there's nothing in the rule book that says a dog can't play.
There are rules against much of what trump is doing, what we are seeing is that rules are just some ink on some paper, What matters is the willingness to wield political power and political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

Posting that also I think comes off more like a chud reveling in trump doing bad things rather than making a point about the nature of power.

There are rules against much of what trump is doing.
The rules you and I exist under are strictly policed and enforced. That is what most people think of when they think of rules. Liberals think of Big Mommy. The problem for liberals is that Big Mommy is not coming to save us. In reality our rules are enforced by a monopoly of violence done to us by the state, no such thing for those in the Ruling class in practice. For the Ruling Class the only enforcement is inter-class squabbles, oligarchs shiving oligarchs thru the state.
In as much the rules that Trump is breaking might as well be a completely different concept.
