...to show that it is possible for anyone to make a nice, solid laptop.

Actually, this showed me that I should never try. Very impressive work indeed. I assumed that it would be clipping together a bunch of ready-made parts, but it was far more involved than that.

For ready-made parts, get a Framework instead!

I wonder why people always say things like "even more impressive because he's a high schooler". I feel like I did some of my best stuff at that age, and certainly had the most creativity going around in my head. A person in that age, given enough resources (which this kid certainly had due to being in one of the best private schools in US) and bit of luck can move mountains.

Not to be so gloomy, let's also remember Tolkien, who published The Hobbit at age 45.

Now thats what I call a technology post

Haven’t watched the video but why is the keyboard popping out on one side on the thumbnail? Not having the front fall off seems more important to me than fast boot up times. But maybe that’s just me.

(Yes, this is partly a shitpost comment. Don’t take it too seriously)

It's magnetically attached and can be used wirelessly, so the thumbnail is showing off that feature

Nice. Way beyond my skill set.

But if it were polished and made by someone; hell yes 👍

Incredibly impressive. I'm in awe he did this within "a few months."
