it is pretty sad how completely captured by their fiat they are in the colonies, you pretty much can't motivate them without it

it's like antisocial brain damage they just keep passing along because they can't figure out communal supply and exchange without little paper slavery

If americans were on average smarter and better informed, then we wouldn't be in this situation. I don't think the majority of people will understand what's happening. They'll blame the jewish space lasers or gay frogs or whatever instead.

Conservative Americans:

"I hate inflation and high prices. Also, let's place tariffs and mass deport millions of people".

It hurt itself in its confusion

And when prices skyrocket and everyone but the hyper-rich suffers horribly, they will still blame it on “liberuhls” and “socialism” and any other boogeyman rather than accepting accountability.

Yeah they're in for a harsh reality. But not thinking is how you get here.

We’ll be getting exactly what we deserve.

Well no, we really deserved an airburst neutron bomb over DC yesterday, but we’ll also deserve higher prices.

I like how the issue is not "arbitrarily mass-detaining millions of people and then doing literally whatever you want with them will inevitably turn into mass-detaining other groups of millions of people, once the previous batch is done with, and sooner or later your name and my name are going to come up on the list." No, the issue is "but now eggs are going to cost MORE and I wanted them to cost LESS!"

For example, one easy replacement for those millions of undocumented workers who suddenly dropped out of the economy is a vast expansion of the prison system, and then prison labor by people who have been convicted of any number of types of behaviors which are not currently illegal because of the constitution. It may take a few years for that realignment to really happen at scale. But... they've got a few years to work on it. I haven't seen that needed follow-up to all the hand-wringing about the upcoming deficit in the labor force nearly as much as I should. If that happens, then eggs will be cheap again. Are you going to write an article celebrating the reduction, if that happens?

I'm not saying it is wrong tactically to point out that the trains are not actually going to run on time. But that's not the point. Not even close.

I got this from the feed of the United Farm Workers, who obviously care about the crackdowns if you follow them, I think framing it as something that is going to drive up costs is pretty reasonable especially if you are a farm worker and know the impact this will have on your industry.

Like I say, I'm not saying it is tactically wrong to bring it up. Just adding some additional context on top.

I hope Maga voters can't afford to put food on their tables. They can blame whatever but I'm past the point of caring about anything other than the hurting themselves.
