I wonder how many actually notice

social media users calling themselves refugees and colonizing an app used by chinese and chinese americans just doesnt sit well with me, especially since it will just lead to chinese americans getting segregated from mainland chinese or having it banned completely.

Them asians and aussies have the right idea having gov IDs for internet access

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Aussies aren't giving anyone ID at this point in time

There is currently no solution or implementation for the social media access law

[–] ToucheGoodSir@lemy.lol -1 points 1 week ago

Well they're trending in that direction. Wise move honestly. We haven't evolved to have smart phones or social media, especially children.

Every time it's being recommended it's always falling apart because they can never actually come up with a safe ID verification system. It's just idiot politicians who come up with these policies without thinking them through, don't be praising that kind of lackluster thought process.

That sounds like you agree the idea isn't bad just the execution btw lmao... :D

[–] ToucheGoodSir@lemy.lol -1 points 1 week ago

The idea is solid even if the execution is awful. I didn't say they were doing it WELL. Just that keeping track of who is doing what online will be v v v important is body enhancements grow in popularity. You really want black hats hacking people's body parts? Lemmy is kek sometimes

Hilarious you all downvote when it's true. You mostly work in tech and are this ignorant? Wild

Yes good you advocate for such a perfect world where everybody's online activity can be constantly tracked. Fuck yeah, surveillance states rock! I love it when laws exist that require me to offer my full name, dob and address to every shady website in existence! /s

In regards to you coming to a tech forum, making tech commentary, and then thinking everyone else is ignorant for disagreeing with you, might I offer you some light reading?
