I was a bit bummed because I had really started on lemmy.world and I didn’t want to lose my comment history, so I was holding out hope that the admins could get these problems resolved and voila, it’s magical how well it seems to be running

My instance server is now getting over 10 comments a minute delivered by lemmy.world, federation outbound is going much better.

Lemmy Server Performance

lemmy_server uses the Diesel ORM that automatically generates SQL statements. There are serious performance problems in June and July 2023 preventing Lemmy from scaling. Topics include caching, PostgreSQL extensions for troubleshooting, Client/Server Code/SQL Data/server operator apps/sever operator API (performance and storage monitoring), etc.
