I read a lot of fucked up news stories, but this one is one of the wildest in recent memory

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I know a lot about the depravity of people but this is a new low even for me.

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

You know it’s bad when the person who makes everything into a joke admits that it’s fucked

[–] eestileib@sh.itjust.works 62 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I hope every single dude involved in this sees hard time. That's gotta be unbelievably traumatic for her.

[–] Sweetpeaches69@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago (1 children)

A life sentence, I would hope.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 3 points 2 months ago

monsters deserve never to see light again

This situation is super fucked, and I feel horrible for her. Maybe some of the men doing it truly believed it was a fetish / consensual though, it's incredibly hard to say without seeing the messages. Either way they definitely should have checked in with the wife, and not have trusted the husband (who was the only conscious person they interacted with).

Edit - after reading the HIV thing, I retract this statement. Fuck these people

[–] VirtualOdour@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 months ago

Also he made them go through an elaborate set of rules to leave no odors or other signs, there's no way they didn't know what they were doing.

“I have had no sympathy from any of the accused. One who was HIV-positive came six times. Not once did my husband express any concern about my health,” she said.

Even if these rapists claims they thought they were participating in some weird sex play, if you knew you were HIV positive, why would you have unprotected sex with anybody?

Their claims reek of bullshit.

if you knew you were HIV positive, why would you ~~have unprotected sex with~~ rape anybody?

When you use the correct terms, your question answers itself (E, in case it wasn't clear: because they're a selfish piece of shit).

[–] Impound4017@sh.itjust.works 32 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Obviously. The point the person was making was to say that even if we buy into the bullshit narrative that this was consensual, it still doesn’t make sense. They didn’t use incorrect terms to skirt around it, they were making a specific point about their claims.

Sir, this is Lemmy. There are semantic arguments we must beat each other over the head with. I didn't make the rules...

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 52 points 2 months ago (2 children)

If I said "come over for free beer" I don't know that I could get 50 people in a day.

What fucking scene is this dude plugged into that he got 50 "yes"s to "hey how's about a nice rape?"

[–] Habahnow@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 months ago

Probably using a group chat or something. I can't imagine he personally knows all 50 of these guys tbh. I hope not at least for the reasons you indicated.

[–] todd_bonzalez@lemm.ee 52 points 2 months ago (1 children)

After the truth emerged, Gisèle found that she was carrying four sexually-transmitted diseases.

“I have had no sympathy from any of the accused. One who was HIV-positive came six times. Not once did my husband express any concern about my health,” she said.

Not only does every one of these men deserve to spend the rest of their lives in prison, but I hope every one of these fuckers tests positive for this.

[–] Shou@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

I hope they die from it.

[–] Sweetpeaches69@lemmy.world 31 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I am a total junkie for true crime, but this is one of the most harrowing, vile, and horrific things I have ever read. I am a lesser person for having read it. That said, I think her carrying on despite all of this is really the testament of the human spirit. That poor woman...

[–] InvertedParallax@lemm.ee 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah this makes me never want to hear about true crime again.

I'll stick to my fake crime, thank you very much.

[–] Sweetpeaches69@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago

Like tax evasion.

[–] VirtualOdour@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago

I've been hearing about Korean true crime recently so sadly the only thing totally new to me about this is it happened in France. Though somehow I'm shocked every time i hear of anything so dishusting, like I don't want to learn the lesson that the world is full of so many terrible people.

[–] archomrade@midwest.social 16 points 2 months ago (2 children)

My wife was telling me about this yesterday, apparently it wasn't just the guy's wife but their fucking daughter, too

He started doing this when she was 60 and it went on for 10 years

The only other thing that I can think of that compares to this is Dahmer lobotomizing his victims with a hand drill to make them into sex slaves

[–] volvoxvsmarla@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What do you mean with it was their daughter too? I don't see that mentioned anywhere, the daughter is just mentioned to have been devastated when her mother told her

[–] archomrade@midwest.social 1 points 2 months ago

I guess they are speculating that he did? Apparently they found a folder on his computer with pictures of her in underwear that she didn't recognize or remember taking, but she obviously doesn't have any memory of being a part of the sexual abuse since he was allegedly drugging them.

I didn't read the story my wife did, she was just conveying it to me so I might have misunderstood something

[–] TwinTusks@bitforged.space 2 points 2 months ago

apparently it wasn’t just the guy’s wife but their fucking daughter, too

What?

[–] BestBouclettes@jlai.lu 14 points 2 months ago

What a fucking trooper, I can't even begin to imagine the strength it requires to go through with this.

[–] TediousLength@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago

Fuck that story makes me so sad and angry! I hope all those pieces of human garbage get what they deserve in prison!

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

That is so messed up.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 6 points 2 months ago

The husband was also involved in a rape and murder in the early 90s. He was caught because he was trying to take upskirts of people in public and the police found the evidence for what he was doing to his wife and daughter on his electronics.
