What's seriously predatory is pretending your candidate is 'working tirelessly for a ceasefire' when in reality they’re actively arming and funding genocide.

That redirection was Stein’s response. AOC’s statement is 100% on point and Stein didn’t have anything to say on it.

Elections are not the time to be "fixing things". Elections are for deciding on who has the best tools at the moment to fix things once the election is settled. Jill Stein doesn't have any tools at all (unless you want to be crass and call her and her supporters tools), so all she can do is criticize what the other guys have and hope maybe they'll get mad enough to drop some at her.

A diversion meant to scare folks back into the arms of the very duopoly that’s been strangling true democracy for decades.

Whatever your goal is, and whatever Stein's goal is, the result of your, and her, efforts is most likely to be another Trump term and the completion of the Palestinian genocide and possibly the end of the American democracy. I’m done wasting my time trying to convince you that I’m not a Republican, that I don’t live in Russia, or that despite posting hundreds of socialist articles to the socialist community, I’m somehow not a socialist. If that’s what you want to believe, fine, go ahead.

If you’re getting worked up over a news article I didn’t even write, that’s on you. Be mad if you want, but it’s not my job to prove anything to you. I’ll share my opinion, and you can take it or leave it. Either way, not my problem.

You are ignoring the big message, which has nothing to do with who you’re affiliated with - that voting for fringe spoiler candidates can and does lead to an outcome opposite of the ideals the voter may hold.

Don’t dance around that - perhaps learn something from it; but at least address it head on.

I posted an article that's already widely available on a much bigger platform than Lemmy. I didn’t write it or create the content. It's already out there for anyone to see, so all I did was share it here for discussion. If you disagree with the article itself, that's fine, but calling for it to be censored or accusing me of pushing an agenda simply because it's not what you want to read seems misguided. Open debate requires different perspectives, not shutting down content you don't like.

We can discuss the article here, thanks, and the overwhelming consensus seems to be that Jill Stein and her supporters are working against their own goals due to the structure of the electoral system. People are commenting on the articles you post making arguments about their basis and merit, and to have a discussion among themselves and you, the poster bringing these ideas.

Now, you’ve retreated to a position of “I just copy articles around so don’t involve me”, which is disingenuous. You are an active participant in choosing and distributing this content.

It's funny how a "nobody party" that supposedly poses no threat can stir up so much anger and frustration. The replies and responses to this article suggest that some folks might be more scared than they're willing to admit.

People don’t get this worked up over something they truly believe is irrelevant.

I’m not even voting for Stein—I’ve shifted my support to Rachele Fruit of the Socialist Workers Party, who aligns more closely with my socialist convictions. But I still support Stein’s fight to break the stranglehold the Democrats and Republicans have on this country.
