Likely a pipe dream at this stage. But having just visited south bank in Brisbane it would be awesome to create something similar here.

What I liked about south bank: -big shady trees to sit under Lots of nice places to hang out that don't require you to be a customer open access pool, water playground. Lots of places to eat

If Perth tried to do it, we would need to bring in the team who did south bank, and keep away the clowns who made the shadeless concrete wind tunnels like yagan square and Elizabeth quay.

Fuck no. We lost enough of the foreshore when Elizabeth Quay was built and the CBD towers marched down to the river. No more

Elizabeth quay is sort of the opposite of south bank in that way. Wanky hotels right up to the water.

โ€œWe would add that connectivity to our river that our city has never really been able to embrace.โ€

What do you mean Baz, its still a great big ~~hotel lobby~~ park to walk through!

Also $2b, that buys a lot of social housing, or solar panels, or raffle tickets to fix the cracks in Naganooks swimming pool..

Can we not embark on another MEGA project for a couple years, and just, i don't know, build something we need.

I'll take the 3000 trees down there though Bazzza, but your tree guys havin a laugh, Trillion trees'll cut ya a better deal.
