Recently Lemmy.World admins have heavily started pushing an MBFC bot in their bigger subs despite it being deeply unpopular with the users.

However rating propaganda was not enough for the mods as they are now actively fundraising for MBFC as well.

Evidence MBFC is ran by a Zionist:

The bias towards any pro-israel lobby website on MBFC is astoundingly obvious. Take for example UNWatch. UNwatch is still pushing the UNRWA is Hamas propaganda despite it being fully debunked by every country.

Surely a website like this spreading blatant propagands would have a poor MBFC. rating. Let's check it out!

MBFC knows that UNWatch is an israeli lobby but just doesn't think that's very important for their credibility rating

For sites criticizing israel it works the other way around.

They do not have to fail any fact checks, just being designated as a 'hate group' by an israeli lobby is enough for MBFC to become a questionable source.

This is known to the lemmy.world admins and mods

Over the course of the last 9 months I have pointed out multiple times in public and private messages that MBFC is an incredibly bad source of ratings. Multiple other users have also made summaries for the .World mods and admins over the last week (and before that).

The admins have willingly ignored this criticism and now added a donation link to the MBFC bot knowing full well what MBFC stands for. Lemmy.World is directly endorsing the Zionist media lobby.

Also notice how anything not far-right is "left biased"

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 35 points 1 year ago

Apparently the AP wire is a leftist rag. And the Washington Post has a left-wing bias. The fucking Washington Post. I'm pretty sure that thing thinks Newsmax is a Centrist organization.

[–] Pogogunner@sopuli.xyz 32 points 1 year ago

Gotta love how Rooki was talking about how feedback was welcome, and then refused to address any legitimate criticism of the idea of the bot not being wanted/needed, and then proceeded to strawman the community. Childish behavior from a mod

[–] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago (2 children)

lemmy.world mods removed the original post on lemmy.world because you can't criticize their Zionism. Only criticism of lemmy.ml allowed.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago (23 children)

That is not what gets you in trouble. You and I have had this discussion before and I'm fairly certain you're aware I'm no Zionist, what with my personal connections in Southern Lebanon who have been direct victims of Zionist violence.

Where you run afoul of the rules is the whole "Zionist because of (insert 6 degrees of separation here)".

It's clear you're passionate on the subject, but to anyone else you come across like this:

I wondered why the bot was getting down voted so much, and I had noticed that it was still ranking sites as left-baised even with factual reporting. This explains it. Thanks!

[–] devnev@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 year ago

The concept that the center is particularly factual and unbiased is dumb. Left and right are biases, but the center is equally a bias against aspects picked up by the others. I'm frustrated by sites like ground news pushing this concept that equates left and right with biased and implies or even directly states that the centre is generally unbiased. It's just more bullshit from the "liberal" center.

A really relevant piece of information that everyone "should know" fortunately for everyone lemmy.world is not the only instance, so we can all block that bot and if the mods continue down that path, node users can move your contributions, communities and profiles to more appropriate instances

[–] antipiratgruppen@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Would you recommend a certain way of migrating contributions, subscriptions etc. to another instance? Is it really possible for comments in threads etc.? I'm asking because I have a user on lemmy.world too...

Here's a screenshot of the .world thread:

[–] Hildegarde@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Is that illegibly blurry due to techincal problrms or censorship? I'm dumb what conclusion should I draw from this?

[–] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Oh my bad. I'm guessing that Lemmy compressed the image. Let me upload it somewhere else.

Remember how this time last year the only people obsessively ranting about Zionists were right wing trolls?

The fact check bot is obviously problematic. But so is Linkerbaan

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Zionism, like most fascist ideologies, has been a problem since it started.

Yeah turns out when you bomb half a million kids into the fucking Earth people begin to question your ideology beyond a few trolls.

What a fucking moronic take.

Dude, this is just going to get removed due to Rule 4.

I'm with you that this is a very worthwhile discussion to have, but this isn't the right community to post it in.

[–] hydroptic@sopuli.xyz 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What's rule 4? For me the sidebar of this community is totally empty except for the standard visibility stuff, for whatever reason. Doesn't even show a mod.

But if this isn't the right community, what would be?

[–] aleph@lemm.ee 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Ah, my mistake - OP's post was literally just taken down from Youshouldknow@Lemmy.world because they have a rule that prohibits "ideological" posts on politically charged topics.

I saw that OP had reposted but my Lemmy client didn't make it clear that it was to this instance, not lemmy.world.

[–] hydroptic@sopuli.xyz 6 points 1 year ago

Ah right, gotcha. Yeah it can sometimes get confusing when different instances have communities with the same name

[–] Linkerbaan@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)
[–] aleph@lemm.ee 12 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Ignore my previous comment - I was on your profile and saw that you had reposted, but hadn't realized that it was to this community rather than the .world one.

Don't mind me -- carry on!

[–] mp3@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

That post has also been removed

https://lemmyverse.link/lemmy.ca/post/22654336

reason: Cleaning up old posts for consistency. Violates rule 5. Not a poltiical community.

Regardless of all the drama between OP and mods, I noticed I've been blocking l.w communities and users more frequently, to the point where they've overtaken ml and hexbear.

As the instance that most people find first (including myself), it was bound to happen - an influx of bad-faith actors, whether they be mods or users.

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Lemmy dot world was host to all sorts of "but Lemmy ml are meanies" liberal posts whilst they had fucking ZIONIST FUNDRAISING? fuck this shit

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Also yeah I know it's ironic coz I use this instance. I'm moving now. Fuck you Lemmy.world

[–] kevindqc@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I can't scroll and read the comments otherwise my app (Boost) crashes :( see a comment about a screenshot then it closes

[–] JohnDClay@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Do the .world mods/admins run the bot? Or do you think they should have banned it?

Lemmy.world is the flagship instance of whiny liberals on the fediverse. If Bill Maher had a fedi account, it would be on .world.
