Even if not, RDJ won’t be the first person to play multiple roles in the MCU, just the most prominent.
That would absolutely annihalate any desire I have to watch Marvel ever again, that would be such a terrible decision.
I rather enjoyed how Deadpool+Wolverine lampshaded this with Chris Evans.

RDJ is a great casting choice.
He's likely to understand that any story about Doom, is Doom's story. Doom thinks he's the hero.
RDJ will get that and sell it to the audience.
Also, Marvel, you've earned your credibility. So stop neutering Doom. Let's finally see him stick his face into Hell to trying to rescue his mother's soul.
