Following changes to its API access, users are forced to log in on the official Reddit app if they want to view NSFW content on mobile.

So... everyone can just create a subreddit to "unlock" NSFW? that's weird & interesting.

yupp. a shitton of people already do exactly that. they create subs with their own usernames.
