Holy shit. It wasn’t until I just read those words that I figured out what they mean. I need to start reading more lyrics instead of just making sounds with my mouth

Read the lyrics to Hook, by Blues Traveller. Dude hit the top 40 with a song that was literally saying that we wouldn't listen to the words.

Good example, there is also Africa by Toto which is just nonsense and yet one of their most famous songs.
