now that two dollar bills are real. Rereading my comment it’s really ambiguous, but my question was about the phrase as real as a two dollar bill. Are they trying to imply that CNN isn’t fake?

I think they are implying that CNN is fake, but they were misinformed about the reality of a $2 bill.
