As much as i loath HC I dont think we can pretend that wasnt largely a misogyny issue, its not like large swathes were being super principled and thats why she lost.
Do not underestimate how much people hate women.
Was it a woman issue? I feel like I did not get that from the election cycle at all. If anything large swaths of the populace thought she would be generally competent as president. She won the popular vote after all. If anything she lost because of her own pied piper strategy.
Eh, its non-zero but i think its dwarfed by every unforced error she made. She had baggage to a degree i don't think any candidate has ever had. People in the US had hated her for over 20 years. The only people who thought she was a good candidate were people who relied on the Clinton's vast patronage network.
The cottage industry of Hillary hate on the US right had a lot to do with sexism, but the hate could never have become as large as it was if not for her truely unique talent of making any attack or challenge 100x worse (i.e. I'm not baking cookies, deplorables, etc.)
It's impossible to quantify, but Obama got two terms despite prevalent anti-black racism. It was an uphill fight, sure, but it shows that an appealing candidate can overcome general discrimination.
If anything, Hillary should have had an easier time than Obama since the black vote is only 18% of the population whereas the female vote is 50%.
She somehow ended up losing the white female vote to Mr Grab'em By The P*say.
i honestly don't think sexism really had much to do with her being entirely insufferable
She got more votes than Trump, didn't she?
