Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

KDE 6 has already been released. Please migrate to EndeavourOS.
It was released but that doesn't make it stable... It's currently still receiving lots of bugfixes and improvements.
Not sure what switching to Endeavour would accomplish anyway. They both get the same packages from upstream. If you want to get them slightly faster you can switch to the testing repos on Manjaro.
Also, can we stop reacting to everything with "wipe everything and install the distro I like"? How about working with what they have first, there's often a solution.
Those packages are not going to be any more stable when you get them. Just older.
When you get the bug fixes happening now, it will be long after Arch and EOS did.
My impression is that EndeavourOS is more stable than Manjaro after using both extensively.
Anyway, I agree as a general principle that we should stop telling people to switch distros to solve specific technical problems.
That said, you do not have to wipe everything to move from Manjaro to EOS. I have done it on multiple machines. Perhaps their suggestion was to fix your problem in place.
You don't have to. Just replace Manjaro mirrors with the Arch ones, and you're good to go.
Sooooo, ignore every point I made and propose jumping to yet another distro. Great advice.
Manjaro has a history of being sloppy especially with web security. The reason people suggest Endeavour has the same goal (more user friendly arch) without some of those drawbacks.
Let me try smaller sentences.
Plasma 6 just came out recently. It still has issues. It's going to keep having issues until they're fixed. You changing distro does not make the KDE developers fix the issues faster.
You seem to be missing the forest because of all the trees in your way. The statement to not use Manjaro has nothing to do with KDE or any other DE/WM and everything to do with the development of the OS.
Manjaro the distro is not being developed by the webmaster of manjaro.org.
@DieserTypMatthias@lemmy.ml why wouldn't I just rather change channels on Manjaro if I wanted it earlier. Changing distro's really seems a bit extreme and going to cause other config issues. I still use X11 as my daily driver so quite happy to wait another two or three weeks until Manjaro has finished ironing it out.
No, I don’t think I will, nor does it make any sense to suggest such a nuclear option. Like the person you replied to, I’ll wait until it shows up in Manjaro stable repos.
I tried Plasma 6, after its release, on Wayland with my nvidia card and many things were still broken.
