It's the Federal government... by law, everything they make is required to be Public Domain.

If they tried to charge for this, I'd be more than "disappointed." I'd be pissed and calling my Congressman to complain!

That makes me wonder.. Does NASA make any money from licensing for all the tshirts and memorabilia you see everywhere?.. Or can any company decide to make NASA swag without licensing?

Just last week, I visited Kennedy Space Center and bought my kids souvenir t-shirts from one of the gift shops there. They were quite a bit less expensive than I expect from souvenir shirts, so they’re at least profiting less.

That being said: the place is AMAZING! The technology, the people, the inspiration! There is so much to see and experience! —- we spent two full days, could have spent a third, and that is without a launch
