I was interested until I saw it uses swipe gestures for interaction :/

If it's anything like the old one, you can enable buttons instead of gestures. Almost everything is customizable.

Sync for Reddit was insanely customizable. Give it a shot and spend some time poking around the settings.

I never used Sync. I'm not a fan of gesture controls

I never liked them either and never used them on reddit sync.
