It's not clear yet how much, if anything, the hackers got.

How do they know the specific amount of data if they stopped it.

[-] Wodge@lemmy.world 25 points 10 months ago

Transfer in progress got cancelled?

[-] andrew@lemmy.stuart.fun 32 points 10 months ago

Stopped it at 94% complete. Mission accomplished.

[-] mihnt@lemmy.world 30 points 10 months ago

Just like how they make their games!

[-] andrew@lemmy.stuart.fun 13 points 10 months ago

94% seems pretty generous.

Count the number of project folders and multiply by 5tb?

[-] Breezy@lemmy.world 0 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Soooo they had ~~minus~~ negative 5 folders?

[-] AlDente@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago

Sorry, not how math works. They got positive 0.18 projects.

[-] EatYouWell@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Depending on the format, that might be enough to stop the threat.

If hackers had access to the computer you're using right now, how much data is stored on it?

[-] Tremble@sh.itjust.works -1 points 10 months ago

Not an expert but there’s the whole operating system which is so many gigs and then the photos and stuff

[-] mindbleach@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago

Well... either hackers found a hard drive with fifteen copies of Windows 11 installed... or there was about 900 GB of project data vulnerable.
