And why should it ? If you notice illegal content, report it so the individual posting it can be taken care of.

You don't like it, block it

You're offended by trolling, block it

You don't like giant emojis, block it

You can't stand a leftist view on urbanism, on science, on transportation... Block it.

I, for my part, can't stand the idea of an instance becoming an even worse echo chamber as it is by severing ties with anybody who irritates an instance admin.

I am ok with an "echo chamber" that keeps these shit people out just like I am ok with an "echo chamber" that kicks neonazis to the curb. Every single "bastion of unlimited speech" has become a shit hole overrun with nazis and other human garbage.

It's like listening to a Californian moved to Texas talk. You know where Reddit is, sounds comfortable for you, and that community mysteriously doesn't let you block subs for years now, but they'll block you drop of a hat.
