Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered
- Reposts are fine, but should have at least a couple of weeks in between so that the post can reach a new audience

MODERATORS
SkyBell was good in the beginning and then went through a dark time of no updates to the app, no support and no firmware upgrades. They now have a new app and are seemingly trying to get their shit together. I still got rid of my SkyBell.
I have a hikvision doorbell now that is linked to my nvr. So far there hasn’t been an issue with it sending out alerts but im positive it’s calling home to China
Why do you say it's calling to China, did you packet watch or you're assuming with good reason? Actually genuinely curious I've been looking at hikvision I've heard they have really good equipment. I know they are used professionally.
