Important to note that Hitler did not win that election, the liberal Hindenberg did. Hindenberg then appointed Hitler to the next highest office (in a depraved attempt to appeal to the fascists) and, during his term, died in office, at which point Hitler seized power in what you could call a soft coup.
Tbf he had still a lota supporters, but yeah Von Papen und Hindenburg kinda like went behind the publics back to make the nazis win faster lol.
Oh yeah, he still got a decent portion of the vote and after he spent some time as fuhrer (and purged leftists, minorities, etc) he had like 2/3 support. My point was that he was never voted into office ever. Period.
