Viking/Celtic style with braids like this
Or long wavy hair like this
Dont braids lead to to torsion/tension alopecia?
A lot of if not majority of Black women end up either bald or with many bald spots because of it apparently due to tight hair styling
Just say no to braids. Lots of humans who did them can confirm this
This is correct. I don't braid since I was a child and my mother used to braid so tightly it made my eyes slant and water and gave me headaches. I absolutely refuse since then, but I see it a lot in my neighborhood.
I guess I'm lucky that I can do the first one.
Definitely not the second
I don't understand how Chalamet gets his hair to do that. I feel like mine is similar in curl type but tousel it will not, it does either nicely defined or fright wig, not anything in between.
I actually tried the braids when I grew my hair out recently. It looked so cool for the first few days but there's a whole new set of hair care issues that you need to worry about...like you can't get it wet! I had no idea how to care for my braids and had to take it out after about 10 days.
If I could afford to have the braids professionally redone weekly then I would have kept it but each braiding session was 50 bucks from a professional braider.
Alternatively if you have a partner who likes braiding hair then...maybe?
So how we do it in my neighborhood is pay moms and grandmoms who are good at it to do it, rather than a salon. But honestly, I'm in a small rural area and that's about what 19th the neighbors will charge for shoulder length hair.
That said, there are braiding tools on AliExpress that can make it faster and easier for you.
