Colloquially they're the same, but wouldn't this sort of thing more fall under machine learning? I've never been clear on the difference.

You're right in any case. Just like the DC hate, blanket AI hate is going to result in friendly fire.

I don’t disagree with the general statement… but this was specifically done with an LLM, so it seems like a moot point?
