The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, which investigated the shooting, alleged on the day of the shooting that “the driver drove in the direction of the officers, almost striking one.”

As of press time, the Mississippi Department of Public Safety has released none of the video surveillance of the shooting of Kohen Wiley, neither the body-cam footage nor the overhead video from the Walmart parking lot where Wiley was shot. A short clip from a bystander was posted on the internet shortly after the shooting, showing neither the shots being fired nor the car driving towards officers.

Don’t forget:

Neither woman has been charged with a crime, and officials have not released any evidence of shoplifting.

I bet this was the result of "can I see your receipt?" "No."

almost striking one.

But.. not .. was she coming around for another pass? They had her fucking plates, just go pick her up at her house afterwards if she runs. This isn't a situation that requires firearms.

I’d take it a step further in that diapers should be free anyways.

Cloth diapers maybe. Disposable diapers are a plastic blight on our planet.

Congratulations. You are now responsible for buying everyone a washer, dryer, spray nozzle toilet attachment, and the maintenance thereof. You will also be responsible for a portion of their work in lieu of the time spent.

Check your privilege.

Signed, two kids that had cloth diapers.

The fuck? You can wash them by hand without any of that shit.

Signed: A parent who used cloth diapers and never put shit diapers in a washing machine.

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

You definitely don't need all that. Cloth diapers predate modern in-home washing machines. I had the "privilege" of being poor and raised in cloth diapers, back when food stamps were paper instead of a debit account, and if my parents could manage it there's nothing stopping people today.

Also, what a stupid position. "How dare you suggest people take some responsibility for their waste instead of choosing the most convenient, selfish option at every turn! Don't you know the world was invented five years ago and old-fashioned sustainable solutions literally don't exist?"

And they knew there was a baby in the car, and there has been no evidence released to indicate shoplifting of diapers in the first place. The murderer (cop, just to be crystal clear) should be in prison. This sounds like a total shitshow from the moment the cops were called
