Nope, it’s actually the first Modern Warfare in a decade that we haven’t “already had”.
Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare came out in 2007 as the fourth entry in the entire Call Of Duty series.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare came out in 2019 as a reboot.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 came out in 2009 and 2022 (reboot). The 2009 version was technically “Call of Duty 6” since it was preceded by World at War.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 came out in 2011 and 2023 (reboot). The 2011 version was technically “Call of Duty 8” since it was preceded by Black Ops.
They never got to Modern Warfare 4, instead they had Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, Vanguard, and WW2 which were futuristic and then WW2 games.
So now here we are, seeing Modern Warfare 4 for the first time ever. And I’m almost certain it will be shit.
7th if you count finest hour, big red one, and roads to victory
