Those republicans sure do give a lot of money to brown people.

Egypt always gets military aid, it doesn't stop when Democrats take office.

They control the Suez canal and are critical to stability in the region. Do you have an alternative where a deal is not reached and someone the US gets a better outcome?

Yes. No military aid, no financial aid. Pay Egypt to use their canal, free trade.

the region has no stability

I have but it involves not having an Israel and the US can no longer create war in the middle east so it's not gonna happen

[–] Fizz@lemmy.nz 1 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

So remove isreal and the US from the middle east and it doesnt address the war Egypt is fighting.

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

Good luck, Israel was founded for a reason, and it wasn't to get out.

[–] weps@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Egypt isn't in a war but it's surrounded by conflict created by Israel and the US.

Can't take that away in an instant but over time sure..

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

The middle east is full of conflict amongst themselves, too. I can't begin to list all of the parties involved, but long story short, these countries were "made" without respect to existing tribes and political divisions. Look at everyone involved in the Syrian civil war, for example; USA, Israel, Iran, Russia, Islamic state, Turkey, Hezbollah, Syrian Arab, Syrian Democratic, Kurds, and more.

It's never been without conflict in my lifetime at least, maybe the Ottoman Empire was quieter

Egypt is fighting insurgency in the Sinai

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

That may be true, but the republicans are the ones who usually make a stink about 1) any sort of aid to other countries and 2) brown people existing

And now they're the ones sending money to brown people.

Republicans make stink about Democrat policies. (even if they agree)
