United Statsian is the correct term for USians in portuguese and spanish (we rarely use outside of formal context because the name of the country sucks), it was used since at least the 1860s iirc. Gringo is not exclusive to americans though, it's more a term used to anyone who was not born in a Latin American Country or Family/Culture. Never heard Yank being used, just Yankee.

Here in Mexico most people say Estadounidense but will know what you mean if you say Americano. Interestingly I noticed that when people speak English they will say American though

Yank is more of a British term. It means the same as yankee in Britain. Yankee can be used by Americans on other Americans, but yank just means 'American'
