From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

This is about banning AI contributions from specific open-sourced projects.

Do you even know what Codeberg did?

A single repo hub doesn't want to host LLM-generated code. It's not like there aren't others that are friendly to LLM-code, including the largest one: GitHub. And GitHub will never ban LLM code, they're too integrated with it. And Codeberg is just a specific Forgejo instance. Nothing is stopping you from hosting your own if you really want to.

You're taking a single instance of a provider adding an extra stipulation to their TOS and equating it to governments banning the use of LLM's. It's not, and the government isn't going to be taking away your LLM. Quit acting like it is.
