The bleakest part isn’t the creepy prompts: it’s the contractors paid to stare into humanity’s AI sewer all day so the rest of us can enjoy a polished chatbot. Imagine explaining your job: I read strangers’ darkest fantasies for eight hours, and somehow I’m still the cheap part of the AI industry.

How do you think you got search? Same way. I saw all your search prompts, too. I have seen the worst of the worst training search algos. This is no different.
20+ years ago I worked for a search startup before Google existed. Think the days of Lycos, Hotbot, Alta Vista, etc. it was trivial for us to watch searches in real time as we worked on tweaking search algorithms.
