Every now and then I wonder if I were to somehow actually have a conversation with family pet, I always wanted to ask if they missed their birth family.
Obviously, humans don't mind taking them away from them to "raise them" but it's kind of sad when you think about it. We really don't deserve pets. Another thing that humanity as enshitified.
Mine’s sister from the next litter lives next door. She gets depressed if she can’t see her. Whimpers to be let out when she knows she’s outside. She is indifferent about their unrelated dog. Anecdotal, and not exactly the same thing but it made me wonder that too.
Evolution helps with this, because we are actually meant to hate our family, due to the danger of incest. It is a bit different for us humans, as we can see this concept in an abstract way, making us able to love our family, without trying to fuck them (at least in the literal sense).
What a ridiculous comment. There are many communal animals that cohabitate with family. Evolution doesn't have a reason for things. We aren't "meant to hate family." Some species do, for one reason or another that gave them an advantage at some point in time that may or may not have to do with incest, and some don't. Saying animals are supposed to is putting some divine influence on evolution that doesn't exist, and isn't true regardless.
Yeah, what a ridiculous comment.
I had to view an archive version because the captcha would not end. If "Adolescent separation-individuation and family transitions" is the correct article, that doesn't say anything about incest in the abstract at least. It only discussed people staying with families. In fact, it treats people who fail to maintain family connections as less well adjusted. I'm not sure what your point is, if this is the article you intended to link.
We arent meant to hate our families, wtf. They are one of the reasons civilization could even develop. Children being raised together develop a natural ick against fucking each other.
Did you read until the end of what I wrote, or did you just decide to go into defence mode preemptively?
I think your wording in the original comment is working against you.
Hate and sexual repulsion isn’t quite the same thing, neither is love and sexual attraction. People love their families, yet don’t necessarily feel sexual attraction toward them.
The way you phrased made it sound like the inherent disinclination toward sexual contact with family members somehow means you loathe them as people.
Nothing you have written in this thread is worth reading. Go read a fucking book.
I was not even talking to you.
You are typing in an open thread. Did you not expect replies?
Ah, I see, you just like to get offended by comments I aimed at others. Alright, you do you, buddy.
No offense was taken at all.
Alright, buddy.
Once again it seems your reading comprehension could use some work. Would you like to point out what indicates I was offended instead of just pointing at a dumb-ass comment and saying 'hey that was dumb.'
Nah, unfortunately I am busy reading fucking books. Now go ahead and enjoy your life with someone else. No reason for you to waste your time and energy here.
Alright, buddy.
Are you an FBI agent?
Would have been a good joke if I would have been talking about animals.
