Very annoying but I bought a $5 usb-c adapter and I just leave it connected to the 1/8" end of my wired earbuds.

For not losing it that's fine, but I found that they start failing after a year or so of usage. The usb c connector is much more fragile than the 3.5mm and I guess being more complex (and digital) means that even a small wobble can disconnect one of the lines.

Yeah. The best option I've found is something like a qualtrix dac, where you have to have a USB c to USB c cable to connect it, or run it over Bluetooth. Still would prefer a decent headphone jack on the device.
