Fun fact: "sinister" comes from the Latin for "left hand". Lefties are evil.
Similarly, "dexterous" comes from the Latin for right. So being ambidextrous literally means "having two right hands."

yeah btw this connection between spatial orientation and character trait was already established in antiquity, at least for the right-hand. that's why i keep saying that the denotations of "politically left/right" go back much farther than the french revolution.

My adopted sister, was a freckled face fiery redhead when she was a kid. But when she got into high school, she suddenly stopped being a redhead and announced to all and sundry that she would forthwith be Auburn. And Auburn she has been ever since. She still has the freckles though.
