The fires don't even have to be a conspiracy theory. They're doing the same to the burned-down part of Los Angeles.

Wealthy capitalists just have a lot of liquid capital, and so they can exploit every single crisis to claim more assets at rock-bottom prices because normal people have lost all their money and have to sell to not starve. Everything that is bad for us is just another investment opportunity for them.
