McCarthy is one of those authors that people find when they are ready. My first McCarthy book was Blood Meridian and I felt like I was reading ancient poetry from a religious text that wasn't meant for the human psyche. We are too prone to want justice and order and sense when nature doesn't give us any. And yet, McCarthy's books seem to all be about the light in the human soul that persists in the face of meaninglessness. I dig it.
