- Comics should be made and posted by real human beans, not by automated means like bots or AI. This is not the community for that sort of thing.

📽️ Credit Where Credit is Due
- Comics should include the original attribution to the artist(s) involved, and be unmodified. Bonus points if you include a link back to their website. When in doubt, use a reverse image search to try to find the original version. Repeat offenders will have their posts removed, be temporarily banned from posting, or if all else fails, be permanently banned from posting.
- Attributions include, but are not limited to, watermarks, links, or other text or imagery that artists add to their comics to use for identification purposes. If you find a comic without any such markings, it would be a good idea to see if you can find an original version. If one cannot be found, say so and ask the community for help!

That's explicitly what the song is about. Ditching work in the middle of the workday because fuck 'em, and proceeding to get shitfaced.
I can't really say this comic is funny if it's just repeating the exact meaning of the song at face value.
I assumed it was a take on the "it's 10 o'clock somewhere" as an excuse for morning drinking, and I assume the song was some derivative of that?
Anyway, that saying has been In wide use in Australia for decades
“The sun is past the yardarm” and “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere” are fairly heavily used phrases in the UK to signal that it’s drinking o’clock. Twonks is from the UK. I never knew there was a song until now.
Mostly agree, but I think it’s about the time of day when it is socially acceptable to start drinking.
The phrase "It's 5 o'clock somewhere" is much older than that song. I was aware of that as a fairly popular saying long before the song came out. Apparently, it dates back to at least 1959.
That doesn't really affect your point, which is that the comic is just retelling a famous joke almost exactly as the joke was originally stated.
