The husband, who wasn't identified, said he had no idea that his wife and her son were having sex, but found it suspicious that they would go into the master bedroom and lock the door.

My goodness, to be that blissfully unaware of the world you live in.

It's not the first, or even tenth thing that would come to mind for most husband/fathers.

Also, young boys learn to be quiet.

One would think, but once you've stuck your head in the sand, it can be hard to pull it out. Also, maybe he suspected but didn't care and didn't want to admit that for fear of being found complicit.
