Let's say I like to "adopt" an inactive Lemmy community representing a city that I have no association with, what are your thoughts if I decide to regularly post the latest news that I find, or interesting articles about it, in a regular basis?

Define "regular basis"? The volume really makes a difference, e.g. 1 post/day is fine, 10 posts/day is likely to crowd out people who have a more organic interest in that place. Also, are you going to post-and-run, or will you participate in discussions if they happen?

If it's local news like the "Florida man does Florida man things" type, I'd probably post-and-run because I simply do not know the context. Actually "post-and-lurk" would be more accurate here.

If it's like a Wikipedia article or a well-known subject, I'm likely to participate
