So it's just a credit card with an above average time limit on when you pay interest.

Of course, only people that want to buy something and don't have enough money right now use credit cards.

You're describing the type of person they prey on, the exact type that should stay far away from it unless they have truly no other options.

the difference being Klarna... has way lower credit requirements...

exactly so they can prey on broke people who don't know how to manage their money... and do things like finance groceries instead of budgeting.

Not necessarily true. Real credit cards have benefits like cash back & airplane miles etc. Tons of financially-savvy wealthy people use their credit cards for every purchase then pay it off before the end of the billing cycle so they don't accrue any interest but they still get all the benefits & cash back etc.

Even without any benefits it's technically free money even if it's unlikely to be super impactful. I tend to micromanage my savings account and I've probably made like... 10 euros in additional interest thanks to credit cards.
