The concept of it always struck me as ableist when described to me.

It's called having a type. Having a type isn't necessarily a sexuality, it's just the collection of things that attract you in a person, and sometimes all the people you're attracted to have a thing in common.

I agree with having a type. To rescue a kernel of a concept, I do think getting excited about a hobby or special interest is attractive to others. My exhibit A are the TikTok memes of people getting smitten when their partners excitedly yap. I can see why people call it being Sapio because (afaik) there isn't a name for this idea yet.

This is literally what my partner says. She loves it when I gush about things I'm really interested and love, and I love it when she does. Idk, there's something really attractive about peeople being earnest and competent.

Lol I'll be the first to admit it. Most people I dated were really intelligent snd they were really happy to share their passions. It's just hot to see people you love being awesome and happy.
