(I know these are somewhat different issues in how we would evaluate them if the stated goal of the laws was more relevant, i.e. we shouldn't have religious law, but in both cases it is demonstrably Republicans creating a wildly overrepresented or invented situation as a pretext for a ban whose real purpose is to be a wedge and a legal "in" for more widespread discrimination, and also red meat I guess)
