To paraphrase Mao on atomic war and whether a given nation's people would survive (and I am sure he would approve of this in particular were he asked): "What makes you think the world needs [Japanese]?"

The Japanese are heading down the road to war with China under a fascist PM as a US dog and battering ram. China and Russia both have the right under foundational international law established by the victorious powers of WW2 which gives the victors non-time-limited rights to use ANY force necessary to prevent re-aggression by Axis powers. In this view China has the right under international law should Japan grow too clearly belligerent (including seeking nukes or seeking to host them for clear use against China) to nuke Japan into a smoldering crater and would owe no one an apology for doing so on legal or moral terms.

Knowing this the Japanese should be rioting, they should tear down their government for the sake of their lives. But they do not it seems have a strong survival instinct and like USians are well beaten and trained dogs of fascism and empire. Hopefully their fascist rulers have one and a modicum of restraint as if they do not and war draws near I for one hope China does nuke them to prevent attack and not to the tune of one or two cities but the ruin of the Japanese nation and the total destruction of American and Japanese armed forces and related industry (and may Amerikkka collapse as well). An example for the whole world of the fate of fascists, of brutes, of barbarians.

Japan may be occupied but it does not have to choose this path, it can resist as occupied Korea does at times (and that is a dog whose military is fully controlled de jure by the US unlike Japan which has some freedom as written) and choose the path of non-belligerence.

I hope for the sake of the Japanese people that things do get out of hand and that they make the right choice and expel the Americans, refuse to repeal article 9 and refuse to seek atomic weapons or a massively expanded military and instead seek peace and cooperation with the rest of Asia rather than domination.
