Anyone here a fan of Bingo Brawlers? It's a format that turns Elden Ring into a competitive PvP game where players race to achieve objectives on a 5x5 bingo board, with the first to score an objective blocking the opponent from scoring it, winning by either getting a full line or once all lines are blocked by scoring the majority of squares.
I'm completely obsessed with it since a friend introduced me to it earlier in the year. The players have amazing mechanical skill in speed running and boss fighting, but there is also an incredibly deep strategic element involved in reading the board to find synergies in objectives and also predicting what the opponent is doing and making the right strategic decisions. The top players have both elite execution and incredible board strategy.
The creator of the series, Captain Domo, is also a born commentator and a fantastic host for the games. He commentates with a rotating cast of players who are generally fine to excellent (with only a couple that I actively dislike). And in general the commentating has really improved over time, from the earlier seasons.
It's currently in the middle of Season 6 and if you get into it there is HEAPS of content to binge through from previous seasons. For anyone who is interested in Elden Ring speed and no hit running, this is the ultimate form of entertainment, imo. It's got everything great sport/esport has; clutch moments, upsets, incredible comebacks, virtuoso displays of elite skill.
I don't know this series and haven't watched any yet (I will today, it sounds fun!), but I'm immediately thinking it could be a fun thing for folk in this community to do as well
My mate who got me into it and I are currently doing some practice to start playing against each other. We've put together our own set of objectives that are more casual friendly than the BB ones and coded up our own bingo board implementation.
