Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

The Treaty of Fort Jackson (also known as the Treaty with the Creeks) was signed on this day in 1814 at Fort Jackson in Alabama. The treaty was agreed upon in the aftermath of the defeat of Red Stick (Upper Creek) resistance by U.S. forces at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
The treaty was the "largest single Indian cession of southern American land", according to historian Michael Rogin - around 23 million acres in Alabama and Georgia. The U.S. forces won with the battle with the help of allied Cherokee and Lower Creek forces friendly to the American side.
The terms of various treaties with the Creek nation would go on to be consistently violated by Americans colonizing the south.

They love to bring up black jews, as if it isn’t obvious that they are oppressed because they are black.
Reminds me of how reactionaries whining about “anti-white racism” love to trot out token mentions about “anti-asian racism” to pretend they aren’t white supremacists.
Meanwhile black jews in israel are treated like shit and second class citizens lmao, reminds me of the incident where a white israeli man spit in a little black boy's face and called him the n slur, 0 media attention ofc. Meanwhile an arab, muslim or anybody who is even slightly uncomfortable with zionism gets publicly shunned. Or the one where a right wing jewish group in nyc harassed a 15 yo hispanic boy who accused an adult jewish man of SA and even called him "illegal alien". No repercussions for any of the racist offenders from any sector of society in either case let alone the jewish community but seeing as these people will literally protest the right of their soldiers, cops, prisons guards, etc toremoved Palestinian prisoners and civillians and nobody fucking cares and acts like you're the bad guy if you point it out idk why tf I'm even surprised. Racism is endemic in anything touched by zionism. Death to all of it.

Vast majority of Jewish orgs near me put out some variety of incitement-to-genocide type content following 10/7, they are all 99% white, they lock arms with their WASP neighbors to destroy what’s left of the local black community, but if you don’t put up with the ridiculous pretense that these people are somehow oppressed, you are a nazi antisemite.
