Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.

I don't look XYZ and/or sometimes I can pass as white so I don't know if I can post here. Can I?

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

The Treaty of Fort Jackson (also known as the Treaty with the Creeks) was signed on this day in 1814 at Fort Jackson in Alabama. The treaty was agreed upon in the aftermath of the defeat of Red Stick (Upper Creek) resistance by U.S. forces at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend.
The treaty was the "largest single Indian cession of southern American land", according to historian Michael Rogin - around 23 million acres in Alabama and Georgia. The U.S. forces won with the battle with the help of allied Cherokee and Lower Creek forces friendly to the American side.
The terms of various treaties with the Creek nation would go on to be consistently violated by Americans colonizing the south.

Gay panic being legal defense disgust me and many cases of homophobic violence was done by police. Amerikkans are violent animals fueled by propaganda and I worry not many can br saved. Notwithstanding liberals who are in their sticking heads in the ground and parroting the state era.
I also remember the don't ask don't tell era where there was debte on queer people openly serving in the military. When it repealed the queer community took it as a win, equal opportunity imperialism was the end goal of the state.
It's the whole current discourse on the trans ban in the military. Personally I'd be ok with not being legally allowed to join the biggest cause of massacres and suffering worldwide but maybe that's me not being a cracker.
Sadly that's not how many people see it, instead they want to have a chance to "defend our freedoms" by taking it away from others far away form the US.
I'll never forget the murder case of a Filipina trans woman at the hands of us soldiers who never got punished courtesy of the us influence in the country. Fuck any trans USians who join the us army or defend their right to do so.
We should be celebrating hard, else what are we doing
"Oh but it disenfranchises trans people!!" Ok how about we abolish the us military and even the us as a whole then instead of letting more people join in on global massacres... No thought about all the murdered trans people by the us military even.
