My dudes Lemmy is social media. How is your cognitive dissonance going, upvoting this and engaging with it here on social media?
Yeah I don't know if I agree with no socal media at all. I think decentralized social media with no "algorithm" is probably valuable. But I'm still down with the spirit and intention of the post so I upvoted.
But there's days I'd definitely trade social media entirely for good pizza hut again lol
Lemmy is a link aggregator. When most people talk about "social media", they aren't talking about link aggregators. They're talking about something like Diaspora or Mastodon.
Does the website work if there's no users logging in? If it's just whatever the server owner decides to host? If the answer is no, then its more like a social media than it isn't.
So reddit isn’t social media?
