I keep seeing the same thing with the GTA VI extended look, and I saw it with Wolverine too.

If you’re not posting “this is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen,” you get treated like you personally attacked someone. Skeptical = hater. “I’m not convinced yet” = conspiracy. Wanting more than a cinematic highlight reel after 13 years, 2 billion dollars spent and charging $80 is “spoiled.”

You can be hyped for a game or think it looks good and still not like parts of i, but somehow being Skeptical gets treated like a personal attack or a conspiracy. As if raising an eyebrow after 13 years, 2 billion dollars spent, 2 delays and charging $80-$100 is “spoiled.”

It’s gotten to the point where you have to be either fully riding or you’re the enemy

Yes, social media is full of ragebait. Yes, some people were going to hate it no matter what. That doesn’t make every opinion fake. High expectations after this long and this much money are not “being spoiled.”

The internet (and honestly many people in general) have this viewpoint that if you don't like the things I like, there must be something wrong with you.

Having to preface a lot of my opinions of video games with phrases like “people can enjoy whatever they wish” or “in my personal experience/opinion” is a pain, but it certainly avoids a lot of senseless arguing. Mostly. Not that often actually. People are weird.

It's a predominantly American phenomenon and it's because ( lmayo ) Americans have no culture (other than what they steal from minorites). They also have no activities outside of work (neoliberalism rotting away 3rd spaces, communities, families) so the only way to express one's self is through consumerism.

So when you, even mildly, criticize a piece of their media/vibeo gane/toys, they take it as an attack on their personality, on who they are.

This is also why Trump will have ~30% support no matter what he does. To most of maga America, supporting trump is all they are.
