This stance varies amongst Amish parish communities. There are plenty of Amish in the Midwest that ride pedal bikes, but do not have motorized scooters.
Things that may have been true in 1878 or whatever but havent been true for a long time as long as its not just the most basic city bike
The article explains why the stance has remained the same 😉
When bicycles were first becoming a thing, there was a big moral panic about women using them to have a life outside the home.
And being nuisances!
